Forest Coach Lines Xmas Eve Mini Tour

On December 24th 2011 around 30 people headed out on the Bustech CDi Double Decker bus that was on loan to Forest Coach Lines. The route for the day was the L70 Picking everyone up outside the Queen Victoria Building in the city and making its way over the bridge and up the freeway towards Terrey Hills. A BBQ lunch was provided upon arrival at the bus depot, but not after the bus did a few laps of the block so everyone could get some nice photos! Finally before leaving the depot, the three generations of Bustech buses were all line up for photos. The group then made their way back to the city, once again along the L70 route and avoiding many low hanging trees and branches on the way! From all reports a wonderful day was had by all and was a good afternoon out and the turnout was great! Obviously all of this couldn't have been possible without the support and hospitality from Forest Coach Lines, of which we thank them!

The Mercedes Benz 0305 MkIV "First and Last" Tour

The club recently held a farewell tour of the Mercedes Benz 0305 MkIV. Over 350 of the type started to appear in August 1984 until the final one was delivered in November 1987, they have seen service all over Sydney and Newcastle, and were the final order of buses that saw Sydney boast a fleet of over 1300 of the model.
The tour was a big success using several buses including 2728, 2824, 3037 and 3082, visiting several locations across Sydney where these buses saw service including Cabarita, Breakfast Point, Meadowbank, West Ryde, Sandown and many other interesting and varied locations.A fun day out was had and was the first of presumably many farewell tours as the numbers of MkIV's left in service diminish. Special thanks go to the drivers on the day for donating their time and skills to making this all possible.
